We practice yoga to bring the opposites into balance: the inhale and the exhale. The inhalation is related to the upward and outward energy known as Prana and the exhalation sends the breath down and out, known as Apana.
In this workshop we will learn how to use Mula Bandha – or root lock – lift energy upwards through our hands and feet. Joan will discuss the importance of this bandha, and we’ll find roots in standing poses before we invert on our hands with Handstands, Pincha Mayurasana, and Arm Balances. A balancing pranayama will close this energetic practice.
